Summer's being booked without you
The trips people take in January are being researched right now...
...mostly through AI rather than Google. Someone's at their kitchen table tonight planning a trip to your area. Glass of something in hand, dreams of holiday fun, a week in January to fill.

They might open Google, but Google AI mode is activated, they will also most likely ask their favourite AI tool where to stay and where to eat. It gives them three names. Is yours one of them?
AI recommends businesses it can describe confidently. When your website, Google profile and social channels tell slightly different stories, it can't form a clear picture of who you serve. So it leaves you off the shortlist and names someone it understands better. That's a visibility problem, not a quality problem.
Being good isn't the same as being legible
You could be the best feed in town and still miss the shortlist. AI isn't ranking you on how good your lamb is. It's working out whether it can say what you are in one sentence without getting it wrong. If it can't, it won't put its neck out. It'll name the place up the road with the tidier story.
October decides January
One properly warm weekend is all it takes. Spring shows up and people start thinking about summer. The research begins weeks before anyone actually pays for anything, unless they are like me and can't wait to book it in!
Which means the version of your business AI can see this week is the version that gets recommended all summer. Or doesn't.
What it's actually checking
Not your prices. Not your photography. It is checking whether the basics line up: who you're for, what you do and where you are. Then whether every platform tells the same story about what makes you different.
When they agree, AI will recommend you. When they don't, it plays safe and names someone else.
Find out where you sit
This is a a quick fix, not a project. I'm running a free Masterclass on the 19th Oct in line with the launch of The Repeat Business Foundation course. My Masterclass will show the six things AI needs before it'll confidently recommend you and how to fix them. That's the difference between being on the shortlist for January and wondering why you weren't.
