Four mismatched social media profile screens for the same hospitality business

Your Brand Keeps Changing its Story

Instagram says one thing, the Google profile everyone forgets says another...

...and AI averages the confusion into a no. Your brand turns up to every platform in a different outfit. Instagram is all polish and cocktails. Facebook is three years out of date. And the Google Business Profile, is wearing something you'd swear belonged to a different business entirely.

Your customer notices. So does AI.

Brand consistency means your website, social media bios and Google Business Profile all name the same customer, make the same promise and sound like the same business. AI assistants cross-check every version of you before recommending a venue, so mismatched profiles read as a risk and the consistent business gets the recommendation instead.

Your customer meets four versions of you before they decide

Nobody meets your brand in one clean place any more. They catch a bit on Instagram, a bit on Google, a review here, an old post there. They're assembling a picture of you from scraps.

If those scraps don't match, the picture comes out blurry and blurry doesn't get booked. Mixed signals cost you the yes just as surely as a bad review does, they're just quieter about it.

AI reads everything and averages the confusion

AI doesn't look at your best platform and call it a day. It reads all of them and when they contradict each other, it walks away. A concierge who can't tell what you are won't stake a recommendation on you. It'll reach for the business that told the same story everywhere.

And that business probably spent less fixing it than you spent on your last menu reprint.

The cheapest lever nobody pulls

Consistency costs nothing. It takes a few minutes and with almost nobody taking the time to do it, it makes it one of the last easy wins. You just became an early adopter!

It starts with noticing the gaps. The permanent fix, the actual words that go everywhere once and for all, that's a slightly bigger job, but noticing comes first.

The mirror check

Open your website, Instagram, Facebook and your Google Business Profile. Read the bio or intro on each, one after the other, like an outfit inspection before the doors open.

  • Do they 'name' the same customer?
  • Do they make the same promise?
  • Would a stranger believe they're the same business?

If even one made you do a double-take, that's your brand out the front in the wrong outfit again. Go fix it.
